Chargers Start Season 0-6 for First Time Since 2000
The Chargers have begun their season with a 0-6 record, marking the first time they have faced this situation since 2000. Head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was a quarterback for the team during that challenging season, recalls the difficulties they encountered.
In 2000, the Chargers started with Ryan Leaf as their quarterback, but after a poor performance, he was benched in favor of Moses Moreno. Moreno also struggled and was injured, leading to Harbaugh taking over as the starter. In his first game, Harbaugh significantly improved the offense, throwing for 348 yards and two touchdowns against the Rams, although the team ultimately lost.
The 2000 Chargers finished the season with a dismal 1-15 record, which remains the worst in franchise history. The current Chargers team, under Harbaugh's leadership, risks surpassing that record for losses this season.
