Charles Oliveira Withdraws from UFC 331 Rematch Following Teammate's Death

Charles Oliveira has pulled out of his upcoming rematch against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 331, following the recent death of his Chute Boxe teammate Allan Nascimento. Nascimento passed away earlier this week at the age of 34.

In light of Oliveira's withdrawal, the UFC announced that Tsarukyan will now compete against Mauricio Ruffy on the September 19 card in Los Angeles. Daniel Cormier noted that Tsarukyan had confirmed the rematch prior to Nascimento's passing, which significantly impacted Oliveira and his team.

Cormier commended Tsarukyan for accepting the fight against Ruffy, despite the challenges it presents, as Ruffy lacks the name recognition of Oliveira. Tsarukyan previously faced Oliveira at UFC 300, where he lost in a closely contested split decision.
