Charlotte Henshaw Claims 12th Para-Canoe World Title After Hospitalization

Charlotte Henshaw of Britain has achieved her 12th Para-canoe World Championship title in Poznan, Poland, less than two weeks after being hospitalized due to cellulitis.

The 39-year-old athlete, who was unable to train on the water leading up to the championships, won the KL2 200m final by finishing over three seconds ahead of her competitors. This victory marks her eighth world title in this event, adding to the four titles she has earned in the VL3 category.

Henshaw, a double leg amputee and three-time Paralympic champion, expressed that this title holds special significance given her recent health challenges. Her teammate, Hope Gordon, also achieved success by winning gold in the KL3 200m, while Stuart Wood secured bronze in the men's VL3 event.
