Chase Elliott Reflects on Tough Daytona Finish and Upcoming Chase

Chase Elliott faced another challenging race on Saturday at Daytona, concluding the Coke Zero Sugar 400 in 23rd place. A late incident involving Carson Hocevar led to an overtime finish, leaving Elliott unable to advance in the pack during the final two laps.

Following the race, Elliott shared his disappointment, noting that he had hoped to gain points to improve his standing ahead of the Chase. Despite starting the postseason in eighth place, he stressed that the focus should be on performance rather than seeding. Elliott acknowledged a difficult stretch for his team, with only one top-10 finish since late June, but he remains optimistic about the reset that the Chase offers.

The first race of the Chase is scheduled for next weekend at Darlington, where Elliott aims to improve his performance and capitalize on the opportunity to move up in the standings.
