Chaz Mostert Secures Victory for Toyota at Gold Coast Supercars Finals

Chaz Mostert achieved a commanding victory for Walkinshaw TWG and Toyota during the Supercars Finals opener on the streets of Gold Coast.

Mostert, driving the team's spare car, qualified second and maintained a significant lead throughout the race, finishing 27 seconds ahead of his competitors before being instructed to conserve fuel in the final laps.

The race commenced under heavy rain with Broc Feeney leading initially, but he struggled for grip and fell back after the Safety Car period. Matt Payne, who started fifth, received a five-second penalty that dropped him to third, while David Reynolds made an impressive recovery from 14th to secure a podium finish.
