Chelsea Finalizes Deal for Lamine Camara After Fernandez Departure

Chelsea has reached a deal in principle to acquire Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara from Monaco after the departure of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City.

On transfer deadline day, Chelsea agreed to sell Fernandez for a fee of £125 million, which ties the British record. Initially, it appeared that the club would struggle to find a replacement, as Monaco had rejected two previous offers for Camara, and Roma's Gian Piero Gasperini blocked a move for Manu Kone.

However, with less than two hours remaining in the transfer window, reports indicated that Chelsea secured a €55 million (£47 million) agreement for Camara, who is now set to undergo a medical. The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to sign a contract lasting until 2032, with an option for an additional year.
