Chelsea Open to Selling Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City
Chelsea is considering selling Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City if the price is right and they can enhance their squad before the transfer window closes. Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Benfica for £107 million in 2023, participated in the team's first Premier League match against Fulham but was excluded from the squad for the Carabao Cup match against Luton.
Despite Chelsea's August 14 deadline for City to submit a bid of £120 million for Fernandez, no offer was made. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso noted that Fernandez is a good professional and has been training well, with a decision on his availability for the upcoming match against Brighton to be made closer to the game.
Manchester City remains interested in Fernandez, even after missing the bid deadline. City is also pursuing other midfield targets, including Bournemouth's Alex Scott and Roma's Manu Kone, following the departure of Rodri to Barcelona.
