Chelsea to Extend Joao Pedro's Contract Until 2034
Chelsea is preparing to extend striker Joao Pedro's contract until 2034 ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Sources indicate that a full agreement has been reached for a contract that will last until 2032, with an option for an additional two years. Joao Pedro, who joined Chelsea from Brighton for an initial fee of £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons, has been viewed as a significant success since his arrival.
Last season, he became the first Chelsea striker since Diego Costa to score 20 goals in a single campaign without taking penalties. He also contributed to Chelsea's Club World Cup victory and has scored eight goals in seven pre-season matches. Pedro is expected to start in Chelsea's Premier League opener against Fulham, while new signings Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha will provide additional support. Additionally, Liam Delap has given up the number nine shirt, which has now been assigned to Pedro, as Delap is available for transfer.
