Chet Holmgren to Miss 8-10 Weeks Due to Knee Injury
Chet Holmgren, an All-Star player for the Thunder, is expected to be out for 8-10 weeks due to a small patellar tendon tear in his right knee. The team announced that he underwent a biological treatment for the injury on Friday.
The Thunder indicated that Holmgren began feeling discomfort in his knee on October 25, coinciding with the injuries to teammates Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace. Williams suffered a fractured left fibula and dislocated ankle, while Wallace had a torn labrum in his left shoulder, both requiring surgery.
This situation poses challenges for the Thunder, who have been successful in recent seasons. Holmgren, along with Williams and Wallace, are key players under long-term contracts. To address the roster's depth, the Thunder plan to sign swingman Ochai Agbaji, which will help them manage their roster amid these injuries.
