Chicago Bears Acquire Jeffery Simmons from Tennessee Titans
The Chicago Bears have made a significant move by acquiring defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans, as reported by FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. The Bears are sending two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick to Tennessee as part of the deal.
Simmons, a four-time Pro Bowler, has recorded four sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, four passes defended, and 38 combined tackles in the first seven games of the current season. The Titans currently hold a 1-6 record, while the Bears are performing better at 5-2.
In the previous season, Simmons achieved career-highs with 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, and 67 combined tackles, earning his first All-Pro honor. He joins a Bears defense that ranks third in the NFL for opponent rushing yards and has a strong overall performance. Additionally, the Bears are set to welcome back Montez Sweat, a veteran defensive lineman, from suspension for their upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks.
