Chicago Bears Hold Tryouts for Nine Defensive Backs

The Chicago Bears held tryouts for nine defensive backs on Friday, featuring Beanie Bishop among the participants, according to the NFL Transactions wire.

Bishop, 26, initially signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent from West Virginia after the 2024 draft. He had a three-year contract worth $2,855,000, with a base salary of $960,000 for 2025. After making the Steelers' roster as a rookie, he was later cut during final roster decisions and subsequently joined the practice squad. He was released by the Steelers in early November and later signed to the New Orleans Saints' practice squad, where he was also released in late July.

During the 2024 season, Bishop played in all 17 games for the Steelers, accumulating 45 total tackles, two tackles for loss, seven passes defended, and four interceptions.
