Chicago Bears Lose Cole Kmet for the Season Following Injury
The Chicago Bears achieved a 30-24 victory against the New England Patriots on Thursday. However, the game resulted in a significant loss as tight end Cole Kmet sustained an injury and will not return.
Head coach Ben Johnson announced on Friday that Kmet has been placed on injured reserve, confirming he will be out for the entire season. Kmet's absence is a setback for the Bears' offense, as he has been a crucial player, complementing Colston Loveland on the field.
In light of Kmet's injury, Johnson mentioned potential replacements, including Stephen Carlson and Qadir Ismail, alongside Loveland and rookie Sam Roush. Undrafted rookie Hayden Large is also an option but is currently on injured reserve. Johnson expressed optimism about Roush's development, noting his improvement and potential contributions in the latter part of the season.
