Chicago Bears Prepare for Final Preseason Game and Roster Cuts
The Chicago Bears are entering the final week of their preseason, with their last game scheduled for Saturday against the Tennessee Titans. Following this game, head coach Ben Johnson will need to finalize the roster, trimming it from 91 players down to 53 by Sunday.
As the Bears prepare for roster cuts, several key position battles remain unresolved. The competition for the left tackle position has been intense, with Braxton Jones, Theo Benedet, Jedrick Wills Jr., and Kiran Amegadjie vying for the spot. Jones, despite limited play due to injury, is still viewed as the frontrunner. On defense, the cornerback position opposite Jaylon Johnson is uncertain, with Tyrique Stevenson’s injury complicating matters. Other candidates include Josh Blackwell and Dontae Manning, but the Bears may also consider moving rookie Malik Muhammad to the outside.
Additionally, the running back position is under scrutiny following Kyle Monangai's knee injury, with Roschon Johnson currently favored for the RB3 role. The edge rusher depth is also being evaluated, particularly the fourth spot, while Garrett Bradbury has secured the starting center position. The competition for the WR6 spot has concluded with Kaden Davis emerging as the winner. The Bears will finalize their roster decisions in the coming days.
