Chiefs' Andy Reid Confirms Harrison Butker Will Likely Kick Against Broncos
The Kansas City Chiefs have signed five-time All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad as a response to the struggles of their primary kicker, Harrison Butker. Head coach Andy Reid indicated that Butker will likely kick in the upcoming game against the Denver Broncos.
Butker has faced challenges this season, missing two field-goal attempts during a recent loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He has successfully made 11 of 16 field-goal attempts in the first six games of the season. Reid mentioned that Butker will take most of the practice reps this week as the team evaluates the situation.
Reid addressed the signing of Tucker, who has faced controversy in the past, stating that the team conducted thorough research before bringing him on board. Tucker has not played in a regular-season game since serving a suspension last year. Reid noted that they are aware of the implications of Tucker's past and have done their due diligence regarding his situation.
