Chiefs' Josh Simmons Continues to Miss Practice Due to Back Injury

Josh Simmons, the left tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been absent from practice for more than a week following a back injury.

Coach Andy Reid confirmed that Simmons is currently undergoing evaluations to assess the extent of his injury. Reid noted that Simmons is doing well when present but emphasized the need for thorough checks to understand the situation better.

Simmons was selected by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, despite having previously torn a patellar tendon during his last season at Ohio State. Kahlil Benson will take over as the starting left tackle for the team's final preseason game, with Esa Pole and Ethan Driskell listed behind Simmons on the depth chart. Additionally, Reid mentioned that running back Kenneth Walker is dealing with a swollen ankle.
