Chiefs Re-sign Wide Receiver Justin Watson to Practice Squad
The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed wide receiver Justin Watson to their practice squad, as announced by head coach Andy Reid during a press conference on Monday.
Watson previously played for the Chiefs from 2022 to 2024 before joining the Texans last season. After being released at the end of August, he remained a free agent until this recent signing. During his time with Kansas City, Watson recorded 64 receptions for 1,064 yards and seven touchdowns across 50 regular season games, along with nine catches for 120 yards in three postseason appearances, contributing to the team's two Super Bowl victories.
The Chiefs' decision to bring Watson back comes after wide receiver Tyquan Thornton suffered a dislocated ankle in Week 4. Although there were discussions about potentially re-signing Tyreek Hill, the team chose to pursue Watson instead as they return from their bye week.
