Chiefs Sign Tight End Thomas Odukoya to Practice Squad

The Kansas City Chiefs have made a roster addition by signing tight end Thomas Odukoya to their practice squad through the NFL's International Player Pathway program. This move occurred after the team conducted tryouts with ten players following roster cuts.

Odukoya, who stands at 6-foot-6, has previously been with the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots since entering the league in 2022. Although he has participated in two regular season games, he has yet to record a catch. The Chiefs already have tight ends Noah Gray, Jared Wiley, and Jake Briningstool on their roster, indicating that Odukoya is viewed as a developmental player rather than an immediate solution.

Travis Kelce, the team's star tight end, is returning for his 14th season after contemplating retirement. At 36 years old, he signed a one-year deal to continue with Kansas City. While the Chiefs are aware of the need to plan for the future at the tight end position, Odukoya's addition is part of a broader evaluation process as they consider potential successors to Kelce.
