Chiefs Suffer Setbacks in Secondary Ahead of Broncos Game
The Kansas City Chiefs are facing challenges in their secondary just before their rivalry game against the Denver Broncos. Rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane has been ruled out due to a shoulder injury, while cornerback L'Jarius Sneed has been placed on injured reserve.
Delane was added to the injury report as a non-participant after sustaining the shoulder injury during practice on Wednesday. He had previously dealt with a similar issue during training camp and aggravated it in Week 1. This season, Delane has recorded 27 tackles, one interception, and five passes defensed over five games.
Sneed had missed practice on Wednesday due to personal reasons and a knee issue but returned to limited practice on Thursday and Friday, leading to a questionable status for the game. In response to these injuries, the Chiefs have signed cornerback Melvin Smith from the practice squad and activated defensive end Tyreke Smith for the game-day roster.
