Chiefs Wide Receivers Suffer Minor Injuries at Training Camp

During training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Xavier Worthy and Cyrus Allen exited practice due to minor injuries on Saturday.

Worthy left early with a shoulder injury, a recurrence of issues he faced last season. He had previously missed time after a collision with teammate Travis Kelce but managed to play in 13 games, recording 42 receptions for 532 yards and one touchdown. Allen, a fifth-round draft pick, was injured during a special teams drill after colliding with Kaiir Elam and was carted off the field. He was later diagnosed with a shin bruise but is not expected to be sidelined for long.

Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub expressed concern over the injuries, particularly noting Allen's promising performance in camp. The Chiefs' wide receiver group struggled last season, contributing to a disappointing 6-11 record, and improvements are needed this year. The team will take a break on Sunday before returning for their first padded practice on Monday.
