Chris Jericho Discusses Differences Between Modern and Classic Wrestling Eras
Chris Jericho, a veteran of the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras, has shared his insights on the differences between modern wrestling and earlier periods. He noted that during his time in WWE, there were around twelve top-drawing main event stars, including notable figures like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Undertaker.
Jericho emphasized that while today's wrestlers are talented, they do not match the drawing power of the stars from the late 90s and early 2000s. He believes the significant name value of those past stars contributes to the lasting acclaim of that era.
Additionally, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque has commented on the evolution of wrestlers, stating that modern athletes have a deeper appreciation for their fan base, having grown up as fans themselves, which influences their connection to the sport.
