Chris Johnson's Honor Ceremony Postponed Due to Health Issues

Chris Johnson, recognized as the NFL's all-time single-season yards leader, was set to be honored by the Tennessee Titans during halftime of their game against the New York Jets. The 40-year-old Johnson has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a serious neurological disorder. He disclosed his condition in June, revealing that he first experienced weakness in his hand in March 2025. His health has rapidly declined, necessitating the use of a speech-generating device.

In a recent letter published in The Players' Tribune, Johnson reflected on his diagnosis and the potential link between his football career and his illness. He expressed uncertainty about whether his condition was caused by playing football, noting that studies suggest NFL players face a higher risk of neurodegenerative diseases. Despite his challenges, Johnson remains proud of his football career and the impact he made on the game.
