Chris Kreider Signs One-Year Contract with Canadiens

Chris Kreider has officially joined the Montreal Canadiens, signing a one-year contract after being waived by the Anaheim Ducks. The Canadiens announced the deal, which includes a base salary of $2.15 million and potential incentives totaling up to $3.25 million.

Kreider's decision came down to three teams, and his choice to sign with Montreal reunites him with former Rangers teammate Martin St. Louis, who is now the head coach, and Jeff Gorton, the president of hockey operations. Kreider had previously expressed a desire to return to the Eastern Conference and would not report to a team he did not wish to play for.

During his time with the Ducks, Kreider contributed significantly, helping the team reach the postseason with 50 points, including 22 goals and 28 assists. His previous 13-year tenure with the Rangers was marked by numerous achievements, including holding the record for the most playoff goals in franchise history.
