Chris Tanev Set to Return for Maple Leafs Against Canucks
Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Chris Tanev confirmed on Friday that he is prepared to return to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Tanev, who sustained an injury during a match against the Colorado Avalanche earlier this month, participated in practice for the first time on Friday, pairing with teammate Morgan Rielly. He recorded one assist in six games before his injury.
The Maple Leafs have been dealing with injuries on their blue line, making Tanev's return particularly advantageous. His absence was felt as Nick Blankenburg and Marshall Rifai, who stepped in for him, were recently placed on injured reserve. Tanev has faced health challenges over the past two seasons, having played only 11 games last season due to various injuries.
