Chris Weidman Shares Experience with USADA During Golf Outing
Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman recently shared an unusual experience involving drug testers during a golf outing. While playing, testers arrived to collect samples, causing a delay as his friends waited for him to finish nine holes.
Weidman discussed this incident on the Deep Waters podcast alongside fighters Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier. He recounted how he had to provide urine and blood samples under the watchful eye of the testers. Additionally, he described a tense moment when testers came to his home while he was at a mountain property, leading to a missed testing window and a warning. In another instance, he was visited by USADA shortly after surgery, which left him feeling anxious about potential repercussions.
Masvidal and Poirier also shared their own experiences with USADA, including being followed after training and being tested during a car purchase. All three fighters are no longer under USADA protocols following the UFC's transition to a new drug-testing program in 2024.
