Christian Engelhart to Replace Injured Maximilian Paul at Grasser in DTM

Christian Engelhart has been confirmed as the replacement for Maximilian Paul at the Grasser team for the upcoming DTM event at the Nurburgring. Engelhart, a 39-year-old German driver, will take the wheel of the Lamborghini Temerario, sporting start number 19, after Paul was sidelined due to injuries sustained in a crash.

The decision to bring Engelhart back into the DTM, after a two-year absence, was made in collaboration with Lamborghini. Engelhart has prior experience with the car and has previously achieved significant success, including a DTM victory in 2023 and multiple titles with the Grasser team.

Maximilian Paul, who suffered a broken left tibia and fibula along with a lumbar vertebra fracture, is reportedly recovering well and may return to racing as soon as the Sachsenring weekend. Team principal Gottfried Grasser expressed optimism about Paul's recovery, noting the importance of testing for his mental and physical readiness.
