Christian Franklin Makes MLB Debut with Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles have activated outfielder Christian Franklin for his major league debut, which is set to occur in an upcoming game. This announcement comes after the team traded catcher Jake Rogers, outfielder Taylor Ward, and right-hander Tyler Wells yesterday.

Alongside Franklin, catcher Carlos Narváez and left-hander Cade Povich have also been added to the active roster. Franklin, who is 26 years old, was previously on optional assignment after being placed on the 40-man roster by the Nationals last November to avoid the Rule 5 draft.

In his time at Triple-A, Franklin has accumulated 961 plate appearances, hitting 18 home runs with a batting line of .262/.383/.397. He has demonstrated strong plate discipline with a 15.1% walk rate and has stolen 36 bases. In tonight's game, he will play left field, joining Colton Cowser in center and Dylan Beavers in right.
