Christian Horner Critiques Guenther Steiner's F1 Success
Christian Horner has made remarks about Guenther Steiner, noting that despite Steiner's popularity from the Netflix series Drive to Survive, he has not achieved any podium finishes in Formula 1. Horner, who has led Red Bull to 14 championship titles, pointed out that Steiner's tenure as team principal of Haas from 2014 to 2023 included two last-place finishes and a best result of fifth place in 2018.
Steiner gained fame for his candid personality and colorful language on the show, which contributed to his popularity, leading to the release of his book Surviving to Drive. Horner acknowledged that the series has successfully introduced new fans to the sport, despite Steiner's limited success as a team boss.
Steiner's career began in the World Rally Championship before transitioning to Formula 1 in 2001 with Jaguar. He later joined Red Bull for its inaugural season in 2005 but left after one year to work in NASCAR. Currently, he serves as the CEO of MotoGP team Tech3, which is positioned eighth in the standings.
