Christian McCaffrey Managing Workload Ahead of NFL Season
Christian McCaffrey missed practice on Monday, but the San Francisco 49ers are not worried about his status as the NFL season approaches.
Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak explained that the team is managing McCaffrey's workload, noting he is a bit sore but overall doing well. The 49ers have been dealing with various injuries during training camp, prompting them to take extra precautions with McCaffrey, who is entering his 10th season.
Kubiak mentioned that adjustments have been made to the practice schedule to ensure McCaffrey does not overexert himself. Last season, McCaffrey led the league with 413 touches, including 311 carries for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with 102 receptions for 924 yards and seven touchdowns.
