Christopher Bell Claims First Victory of 2026 NASCAR Season at Southern 500

Christopher Bell achieved his first win of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season at the Southern 500, breaking a 33-race winless streak. The race took place on Sunday, and Bell, hailing from Norman, Oklahoma, secured his 14th career Cup victory.

After a brief rain delay, Bell made a strategic pit stop for fresh tires with less than 30 laps remaining. He overtook Kyle Larson, who remained on older tires, with 12 laps to go and maintained his lead to clinch the win at Darlington.

Ty Gibbs finished in second place, while Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, and Larson rounded out the top five. Denny Hamlin, the points leader, finished 18th after sustaining damage from an incident, and William Byron faced an engine failure, finishing 37th. Hamlin leads Bell by 12 points in the Chase standings with nine races remaining.
