Christopher Bell Remains Competitive Despite Mechanical Setback
Christopher Bell experienced a significant setback during a race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway due to a power steering failure, which resulted in a 23rd place finish and a loss of 15 points. Despite this, he remains hopeful about his prospects in the Chase for the Championship, recalling his previous success of winning three races in a row last season.
During the race, Bell managed to finish each stage in second and third place, which helped mitigate the points lost to championship leader Kyle Larson. He noted the physical toll the race took on him, particularly on his shoulders and hands, as he had to grip the steering wheel more tightly than usual.
Bell is also recovering from a wrist injury sustained earlier in the season, expressing gratitude that the mechanical issue did not occur closer to his injury. He acknowledged the challenge of overcoming a 55-point deficit and emphasized the necessity of winning races to improve his standing in the championship. Bell remains determined to compete and capitalize on upcoming opportunities to secure victories.
