CIA Director Visits Moscow to Warn Against NATO Attacks

CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an unannounced visit to Moscow this week, where he warned Russian officials against any potential attacks on NATO territory. This trip marks the first visit by a senior official from the Trump administration to Russia in several months.

During his discussions, Ratcliffe emphasized the need for Russia to cease its economic and military support for Iran, as the U.S. aims to limit Tehran's financial resources. Concerns have been rising among American and European officials regarding the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin testing NATO's resolve through a limited military incursion, particularly as the conflict in Ukraine continues without resolution.

Ratcliffe's visit follows previous intelligence assessments suggesting that Putin might consider escalating tensions by targeting NATO member states, including the Baltic nations and Poland. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted that Ratcliffe did not meet with Putin and that his interactions were primarily at the level of special services.
