Cincinnati Exonerated in NCAA Investigation of Brendan Sorsby

The NCAA has completed its investigation into Brendan Sorsby, a former Cincinnati quarterback, and has decided that the University of Cincinnati will not face any penalties. Sorsby, who previously played for the Bearcats, was found to have committed a Level III violation related to prohibited betting activities during his time at the university.

Despite Sorsby's admission of a gambling problem and his efforts to seek treatment, he was implicated in betting on the Indiana Hoosiers while he was a redshirt freshman. The NCAA's inquiry revealed that the only evidence against Cincinnati involved Sorsby attempting to access a prediction market app, which he was denied access to by the university.

Cincinnati's compliance department provided Sorsby with the necessary education on gambling regulations, and the NCAA confirmed that all penalties for the violation would apply solely to Sorsby, not the institution or its staff.
