Cincinnati Reds Sign Outfielder Dominic Fletcher to Minor League Deal

The Cincinnati Reds have signed outfielder Dominic Fletcher to a minor league contract, enhancing their outfield options. Fletcher, who is 29 years old, will report to Triple-A Louisville after recently electing free agency following a release from the Pirates.

Fletcher was drafted by the Diamondbacks in 2019 and made his MLB debut in 2023. He played 28 games that season, achieving a batting average of .301 and an OPS of .791. However, his performance declined in subsequent seasons, including a disappointing .206 average with the White Sox in 2024.

After a brief stint with the Pirates' Triple-A team, where he posted impressive offensive metrics, Fletcher opted out of his contract before signing with the Reds. The Reds currently sit six games below .500 and may provide Fletcher with an opportunity to return to the majors, especially given their struggles in the outfield.
