Cincinnati Reds' Suarez and Friedl Clear Waivers, Set to Join Team in Chicago

Eugenio Suarez and TJ Friedl of the Cincinnati Reds have successfully cleared waivers and are expected to join their teammates in Chicago for a series against the Cubs starting Friday.

Both players were placed on outright waivers on Wednesday. Suarez, who is 35 years old, has hit 19 home runs this season, including a grand slam in a recent game against the Giants. Despite this, he has a batting average of .205 with an OPS of .696, and has frequently played as the designated hitter. Friedl, aged 31, has struggled this season, posting a .476 OPS and only three home runs, resulting in a loss of his center field position.
