Claressa Shields Anticipates Fight with Lauren Price in 2027

Claressa Shields, a prominent figure in boxing, has announced that a fight with Wales' Lauren Price is likely to take place in 2027. The 31-year-old American, who has an undefeated record of 18 professional fights, is recognized as a multi-weight undisputed world champion.

Shields is set to move down to middleweight to face Australia's Kaye Scott on August 15 in Atlanta, Georgia. She expressed her eagerness to showcase her skills against Price, who is also unbeaten in her 10 professional bouts and holds the title of unified welterweight champion. Shields mentioned that while she initially thought the fight would happen sooner, she now anticipates it will occur in the first quarter of 2027.

Shields has previously faced Price in the ring after Price's victory over Stephanie Pineiro in April. Although discussions about a two-fight deal were made, Price has not fought since then. Shields believes that Price will need a warm-up fight before stepping up two divisions to middleweight for their anticipated match.
