This fight marked Shields' first appearance in the middleweight division since 2023, as she dropped three weight classes to face the 42-year-old Australian. Shields showcased her dominance throughout the match, achieving her fourth career stoppage and improving her professional record to 19-0.

Shields, who is also the undisputed heavyweight champion, expressed the challenges of her training camp, noting a significant weight cut of 38 pounds. Following her victory, she indicated a desire to fight welterweight champion Lauren Price next, or potentially face Mikaela Mayer or Tamm Thiebault, who holds multiple middleweight titles.
