Cleetus McFarland's Super Late Model Debut Ends in Wreck at Battle at Berlin
Cleetus McFarland participated in the Tekton 250 Battle at Berlin at Berlin Raceway in Michigan, driving his newly acquired No. 33 Late Model car. He qualified 22nd among 27 competitors.
The race was tumultuous for McFarland, who experienced an early spin while avoiding a collision and dealt with tire issues. With less than 20 laps remaining, he lost control of his car and collided with Keith Herp, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles and ending McFarland's race in 19th place.
Despite the incident, McFarland expressed enjoyment in the experience and plans to compete in more late model events at his track, the Freedom Factory, in Florida. His next NASCAR appearance is scheduled for the Craftsman Truck Series at Talladega Superspeedway on October 23.
