Cleveland Browns Consider Quarterback Trade Before Deadline
Sports Illustrated has suggested that the Cleveland Browns might pursue a trade for New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler before the NFL trade deadline on November 10. Currently, the Browns hold a 5-2 record, a position many did not anticipate at this stage of the season.
While discussions have primarily focused on enhancing the defensive line, the idea of acquiring Rattler has emerged as a potential move. Rattler, who is in his third NFL season, serves as a backup in New Orleans after starting eight games last season, where he recorded 1,586 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Replacing Deshaun Watson is not seen as a priority, as he has been effective enough to maintain the team's success. Watson's performance has included an average of 211 passing yards per game, with seven touchdowns and three interceptions over seven games. The Browns would only consider Rattler if they believe he offers a significant upgrade as a backup quarterback.
