Cleveland Browns Linebacker Easton Mascarenas-Arnold Competes for Starting Spot

The Cleveland Browns are currently in their second week of training camp for the 2026 NFL season, working on a revamped defense following the departure of Myles Garrett. Among the players vying for a starting role is linebacker Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, a second-year player and former undrafted free agent.

With most defensive positions already filled, the competition for the third linebacker spot is heating up. Mascarenas-Arnold is contending against Nathaniel Watson, Winston Reed, and rookie Justin Jefferson for the chance to play alongside Carson Schwesinger and Quincy Williams. Last season, he participated in 16 games, starting once and recording nine tackles, primarily contributing on special teams.

Head coach Todd Monken has praised Mascarenas-Arnold's work ethic and attention to detail, noting his consistent performance during training camp. As the team begins to incorporate more physical practices, Mascarenas-Arnold's abilities are expected to shine, particularly in running situations.
