Cleveland Browns Quarterback Battle Update
Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken is in the process of determining the starting quarterback for the upcoming season, with veteran analyst Tony Grossi suggesting that Deshaun Watson has enough support to be named the starter.
Despite this, Monken has stated that he will wait until after the team's second preseason game to make a decision. Watson played in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears, completing 11 of 15 passes for 126 yards, while Shedeur Sanders, who entered the game later, finished with 6 of 11 passes for 79 yards and one interception.
Sanders is scheduled to start in the next preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, with both quarterbacks sharing first-team repetitions during joint practices. Monken has emphasized the importance of fairness in the evaluation process, as the Browns aim to finalize their starting lineup ahead of the regular season opener on September 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
