Cleveland Browns Release Wide Receiver Cedric Tillman
The Cleveland Browns have decided to release wide receiver Cedric Tillman, a move confirmed on Thursday ahead of the league's roster cutdown deadline.
Tillman, who was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft from Tennessee, was entering the final season of his rookie contract. Last season, he recorded 21 receptions for 270 yards and two touchdowns, but faced competition for a roster spot as the team added two wide receivers in the 2026 draft.
The Browns selected KC Concepcion in the first round and Denzel Boston in the second, which crowded the receiver lineup and placed Tillman in a precarious position. Head coach Todd Monken has praised the new recruits, indicating their expected significant roles in the upcoming season. Tillman will become a free agent once the release is finalized, with several teams potentially interested in adding depth to their receiving corps.
