Cleveland Browns Sign Former Cowboys Pass Rusher Sam Williams

The Cleveland Browns have made a roster change by signing Sam Williams, a former second-round pass rusher from the Dallas Cowboys, following recent player cutdowns.

This move comes after the Browns lost defensive end Alex Wright to injury, which impacted their pass rush depth. To address this gap, Cleveland previously signed Derek Barnett and released Julian Okwara, creating a need for additional support at the position.

Williams, who is entering his fifth NFL season, had a notable career with the Cowboys, recording 9.5 sacks and 22 tackles for loss during his time there. After recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him for the entire 2024 season, he played 17 games last year, achieving 37 tackles and one sack. The Browns waived cornerback Michael Coats Jr. to accommodate Williams on the roster.
