Cleveland Browns Waive Rookie WR Aaron Anderson, Claim DT Coziah Izzard

The Cleveland Browns made a roster change on Tuesday, waiving undrafted rookie wide receiver Aaron Anderson following a shoulder injury sustained during practice. In a corresponding move, the team claimed defensive tackle Coziah Izzard off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals.

Aaron Anderson, who joined the Browns in May after a successful tryout at rookie minicamp, had previously played at LSU, where he recorded 106 receptions for 1,341 yards and five touchdowns over three seasons. Despite his potential as a return specialist, the competition among receivers, including established players and promising rookies, made his chances of securing a spot on the 53-man roster slim.

Coziah Izzard, a 24-year-old defensive tackle, was added to address the Browns' needs on the defensive line. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 305 pounds, Izzard has experience from his time with the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints. His addition comes as the team deals with injuries among their defensive players, intensifying the need for depth ahead of their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on August 15.
