Cliftonville FC Members Approve Takeover by Toronto Investment Group
Members of Cliftonville FC have approved a £3 million takeover by the Toronto Investment Group (TIG), securing the club's future after a protracted negotiation process.
The decision followed a vote at an Extraordinary General Meeting where 81% of members supported the resolution proposed by current chairman Kevin Crossan, surpassing the required 75% majority. This resolution allows the club's board to finalize the investment agreement with TIG.
The takeover marks a significant shift for Cliftonville, as the Canadian consortium plans to provide transfer funds for the team and transition the club to a full-time operational model, alongside proposed stadium redevelopment. The club expressed gratitude to its members for their engagement in this pivotal decision.
