Clippers Overcome Challenges with Season Opening Win

The Los Angeles Clippers began their 2026/27 season with a convincing 121-96 win against the Sacramento Kings, despite facing significant challenges. Head coach Tyronn Lue is navigating the season without star player Kawhi Leonard and several others, including Brandon Ingram, Max Strus, and Jordan Miller, who are sidelined due to injuries.

In post-game discussions, Lue and players like Darius Garland and Brook Lopez expressed their feelings about the absence of team owner Steve Ballmer, who is suspended for the entire season due to salary cap violations. Lue dedicated the victory to Ballmer, acknowledging his contributions to the team and the community. However, columnist Mirjam Swanson suggested that the focus should shift towards the fans rather than the suspended owner, criticizing the team's efforts to engage with supporters.
