CM Punk Pays Tribute to Dory Funk Jr. at WWE Event
CM Punk paid tribute to the late Dory Funk Jr. during a WWE live event held in Fairfax, Virginia, on August 7, following Funk's passing on August 4 at the age of 85.
After teaming with Cody Rhodes to compete against Gunther and Ricky Saints, Punk secured the victory by using a spinning toe hold, a signature move of Funk's, instead of going for a pin after hitting Saints with the GTS.
Dory Funk Jr. was a highly respected figure in wrestling, with a career spanning over six decades. He was inducted into multiple wrestling halls of fame, including the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009. Punk's tribute was a reflection of his admiration for the Funk family and their contributions to wrestling.
