Coby Bryant Undergoes Surgery, Out for Four to Six Months

Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant has undergone surgery and will be sidelined for four to six months, as announced by head coach Ben Johnson. This injury marks a significant setback for the team, as Bryant was one of their key acquisitions during the offseason.

Bryant, who sustained a left knee injury during a training camp practice on August 3, initially faced an 8-10 week recovery timeline. However, further evaluations led to the decision for surgery, extending his absence beyond the original projections.

The 27-year-old signed a three-year, $40 million contract with the Bears after contributing to the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl victory. His absence leaves the Bears' secondary thin, prompting increased responsibilities for other players as the team prepares for the upcoming season, which begins on September 13 against Carolina.
