Cody Rhodes Discusses Evolution of WWE Pay Structure
Cody Rhodes has noted a significant shift in the earning potential for WWE Superstars, suggesting that their pay is now approaching that of athletes in major professional sports.
In a recent interview, Rhodes referenced WWE President Nick Khan's comments about the evolving pay structure, indicating that while some wrestlers are doing well, a select few are reaching a new level of income comparable to that of top athletes. He expressed pride in this development, contrasting it with the past when wrestlers could gain recognition globally but not achieve similar financial success.
Rhodes remarked that the current financial landscape in professional wrestling is favorable, with guaranteed amounts in WWE contracts. He also reflected on how his late father, Dusty Rhodes, would have been surprised by the current payouts. Since returning to WWE in 2022, Rhodes has become a prominent figure, winning the Undisputed WWE Championship three times and currently engaging in a storyline with Randy Orton.
