Colby Covington Expresses Discontent Over Title Defense Location
Colby Covington has voiced his dissatisfaction regarding his upcoming title defense in Abu Dhabi, which is set for November 14 against Khamzat Chimaev. The former UFC welterweight champion, now part of the Real American Freestyle (RAF) organization, is frustrated about having to travel for the match.
Covington, who recently won the RAF cruiserweight crossover championship, successfully defended his title earlier this year against Belal Muhammad. Despite his achievements in RAF, he is disappointed that his next fight will not take place on American soil, stating that he prefers to compete in the United States.
Previously, Covington had a challenging tenure in the UFC, losing four of his last six fights before transitioning to RAF, where he has found renewed success with five victories this year.
