Colin Spear Appointed THON 2027 Hospitality Director

Colin Spear has been appointed as the Hospitality Director for THON 2027, following his previous involvement as a member of the Hospitality Committee in 2024 and as a captain in 2025 and 2026. His role will involve overseeing 24 captains and around 280 committee members to support families, dancers, and volunteers during THON events.

Spear aims to enhance the impact of THON by expanding profit-share promotions to all Penn State Commonwealth Campuses, fostering community engagement while raising funds for childhood cancer. His committee focuses on sustainability and accommodating dietary needs, operating entirely on donations.

In the past year, the Hospitality Committee successfully donated over 2,100 pounds of food to local charities after THON Weekend 2026. Spear expresses enthusiasm for developing leadership within his team and emphasizes the importance of building trust among committee members.
